Our Story

In Fall 2022, Gloria Geevarghese submitted an Expansion Inquiry to the National Vice President of Membership, Jessica Marie Mariano, to establish Delta Epsilon Mu, Inc. at the University of Texas at Dallas. Through the now obsolete Pre-Health Professionals Club at UT Dallas, an Interest Group was formed and led by Gloria Geevarghese, who would become the Founding President, which served as the stepping stone to establish a Colony. Under the guidance of the National Vice President of Membership, Jessica Marie Mariano, the National Director of Expansion, Michelle Zhang, the National Assistant Director of Expansion, Karley Seto, and the Rho Chapter at UC Irvine, the University of Texas at Dallas Colony completed their Prospective Member Education. On April 15, 2023, 11 students were initiated to become the Founding Class of the Beta Gamma Chapter of Delta Epsilon Mu at UT Dallas. In earning a charter as the 43rd Chapter, the Beta Gamma Chapter thus established a foundation at the University of Texas at Dallas to develop well-rounded leaders in the various health fields, centered around the Pillars of Loyalty, Dedication, Friendship, and Support.

The Founding members were President Gloria Geevarghese, Vice President Naomi Kurian, Treasurer Gelila Aklilu, Co-Director of Prospects Aastha Binu, Co-Director of Prospects Alyssa Matthew, National Liaison Shannon Sunilmon, Secretary Irene Jacob, Historian Alekhya Sanghubattla, Director of Public Relations Alekhya Sanghubattla, and member Mohima Aich.

These members of the Founding Class of the Beta Gamma Chapter of Delta Epsilon Mu thus established a foundation at UT Dallas for health education in all pre-health fields centered around the four principles of friendship, dedication, loyalty, and support.

Our History

Delta Epsilon Mu was founded on the grounds of Binghamton University in New York in Spring 1996. Delta Epsilon Mu was established with the goal of uniting students interested in entering various pre-health professions including medicine, psychology, dentistry, nursing, physical therapy, among others. The Founding Fathers united their interests in building a Co-ed Pre-health Fraternity to serve students by exposing them to professionals from various health fields.
